The key to move on is: Take hope out of the ecuation. Accept the reality, accept thats its over so that your brain can start the healing process. I understand you dont want to meet anyone right away, start with yourself. I was ened a year ago, it still hurts, in a different way now. Take the decision to become a better version of yourself, she was not for you, better now that in a more serious situation. You will be alright. Hang with friends and family, you are not alone brother. Cheer up. Pd. Time for no contact zone. Dont contact her, watch her photos or memories, try to block it. The first thing the brain do after a breakup is create a fake image of a perfect person that never existed, so dont let that turn you down. Time heals all, but help yourself a bit. Also workout, read, and why not, drink a bit. Peace.

I just went through a break up. I understand how it feels, he was the love of my life and the only man I ever see myself with in the future. Don’t forget about how she have given up the relationship like this.. after a break up we only think of how perfect our ex was but in reality, it’s not working out. a partner who is willing to give up without fixing it, it’s not worth your time. The problem with break ups is that we are programed to remember things that damaged us. Its evolution, brain remembers everything bad that happened to body so next time we will be smarter and aviod that situation. Thats why its hard to forget person you loved so much because even if you want to forget your brain will remind you about this bad experience. Best thing to do is just accept it, 3/4 of adults are in psychical pain so its nothing new. Find something that will take your mind of her. And just live and laugh, life is too short to worry about stupid shit like this and you are not the first one with problem like that, every man that walked on this earth had the same problem as we do. Now go out there and show what you are worth. It may take month, year, decade and after that time, even if you are still damaged and you still think about her, things will work out for you just fine. But if you will be sad, you will show her that she won, she dominated you. I hope you will find peace

You can already tell how many people has experienced the same. Yet we are all here, being supportive, sticking to self-improvement. In a year, both my GF and father left me. GF in 2019 so it still hurts at times, especially while reading this and talking about it. This is my first time being this broken by love (I am 32 so I am not inexperienced otherwise) and my advice to you: - As long as you love her/him, remove everything. - After a certain point, analyzing it will not help. You have already drawn all necessary conclusions, so try to distract yourself with enjoyable activities. Let healing happen by itself. - When heart broken, the first week or two there is a real chemical imbalance in your brain. You need the oxytocin, dopamine asf. Try to be in a social environment where people appreciate you. Hugging, talking, having fun. - Remember, it hurts because it was good. So don't apply the fear of rejection to ruin your future. It was worth it, but now: new beginnings.

Jeez , you were fine and happy before she came into your life, you had your own fun interesting life with your friends, goals ,hobbies etc you were a badass confident dude who was secure in his worth to get any girl back then. Dont lose yourself in the relationship like that again. It hardly meant anything in your life. Same way, youll be fine without her too. Youll find another better girl. You love yourself and you dont need love from someone else to feel complete. You arent scared to lose the love from the other person because you know you arent losing much, because your life is so much more and you get love from so many other places.

this is what i flipping hate about people and relationships nowadays. for instance: a marriage should be absolute. you try and FIGHT to stay together; that's what you promised. but society preaches that you should leave your beloved if you feel dissatisfied when something doesn't feel right anymore. that's.. so, so wrong. you freaking promise to stay with someone. "through better and worse". tell them when something doesn't feel right anymore. and don't complain when it doesn't work out in the end bc you choose someone to be with who doesn't value relationships. look for someone who has the right flipping mindset about relationships and change your way of thinking if it's wrong. love isn't all butterflies and happiness. but it can be wonderful if flourished and taken care of. hope your heart heals soon and you'll do better with the next person you choose. i'm cheering you on, op!

Happened to me six weeks ago..still crying all the time..and I am afraid friends and family are getting really tired of me but I can’t even hold a proper conversation because I can’t take my mind off of it not even for a minute. I also can’t really distract myself because I have to pass some really hard exams on uni..And now I am stuck in a position where I can’t take some time for myself but also can’t learn cuz I just keep thinking..anyone been here and has some advice? Be me: 26, 8 year long relationship and 5 of that has been married, everything seems to be going great, finally finished 18 months of training to get the job I've wanted for 10 years, the day before I start at the new job she drops this: "I've been unhappy for years, and it's time I look after myself, I want a divorce" me *confused as fuck as she has never said or hinted at unhappiness*. This happened about 6 months ago and still have no idea why she was unhappy but I am slowly getting over it The moral of the story is, if everything is going great, life will find a way to ruin it for you, but lessons like these are what make you into who you are
